About this course
IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE THROUGH ACCESS TO FINANCE
#finance #poverty #banking
Globally, almost one-third of adults, 1.7 billion people, are 'unbanked' - have no access to a simple bank account. About half of unbanked people include women in poor households in rural areas or out of the workforce.
The World Bank considers financial inclusion one of the ways to reduce extreme poverty and help families and businesses plan for the future, invest in education or health, and so improve the overall quality of life.
This course, part of the GRAND CHALLENGES channel, aims to inform students about action towards financial inclusion and engage them in creative thinking about financial inclusion challenges.
