ABOUT

GLOW UP!, KEEP IT UP! and LEVELUP! are community contributions intended to support our Haileybury students, and students everywhere.

LEVELUP! was written early in 2020 and aimed to help with the challenges that students might face in transitioning to remote learning.

KEEP IT UP! is written from a perspective of an extended period of remote learning and lockdown and aims to address the more complex issues of building and maintaining resilience - not only for now, but for life.
 
GLOW UP! suggests ways for students to continue to achieve, succeed, learn and develop and looks at topics including growth mindset, grit and self-compassion. It also includes materials to support parents. 

The LEVELUP! project was recognised as part of The Educator Best Student Wellbeing programme 2021.
 
 
Give them to your students, read them to your students, read them yourself, or take pieces of them and use them, if you find them useful, however you wish.

You know what it is to glow, right?

You’re shining, all warm, radiating warmy radiant things from inside of wonderful you, positive, upbeat. No pity party for you.

Some people just seem to glow like it’s the easiest thing in the world. They turn their frowens upside dowen, a - becomes a +, and they generally seem to carry around a little sunlight with them.

In this handbook, we’re going to show you how you can have a little bit of glow in you, too. 

GLOW UP! was created by HaileyburyX Director Dr Peter Thomas and Maria Bailey, Director of Counselling Services at Haileybury.

Life is all ups and downs. Sometimes things go well. Sometimes things go badly.

To cope with this – and there will be many times in your life when you will need to – you need to be resilient. You have to bounce.

Sometimes you are bouncing up, sometimes down.  And we call it an art because it’s something that you can make your own.

Our Art of the bounce handbook is full of things you can do to bounce. Use some of them, all of them - or mix it up to create your own personal bounce.

This little handbook gives you some suggestions for what you can do to level up your learning online.

You’ll learn the ins and outs of being a great student in a video classroom, how to stay super focused when you have a million things to do, how to polish up those study skills and some other things you can do to make sure your learning online levels up.

LEVELUP! was created by HaileyburyX director Dr Peter Thomas, with support from colleagues Lauren Sayer, Anna Sever and Melissa Allen.

GLOW UP!, KEEP IT UP! and LEVELUP! are Adobe Publish Online documents that work on any device, in any modern web browser, without the need to install a plug-in. You can read them online on any device and on any platform, save them as PDFs or print them.
